Sixth Form Uniform Policy

Gentlemen’s Uniform

  • Gentlemen must wear a suit (grey, navy or black) with a shirt and tie
  • Suit jackets must be worn at all times around the academy unless permission is given to remove them during a lesson
  • A plain V neck/round neck jumper over the shirt is fine but turtle neck jumpers are not permitted nor are jumpers displaying a large logo
  • ID badges are how we identify and safeguard our Sixth Form students so must be worn at all times

Ladies Uniform

  • Ladies may wear either a trouser suit or a knee length loose fitting skirt suit (grey, navy or black)
  • A shirt, blouse or other business wear top (please see Head of Sixth Form if unsure)
  • T-shirts of any kind and tops that do not reach the elbow are not suitable
  • Smart jumpers are acceptable beneath the blazer providing they do not have a large logo

All Sixth Form Students

  • A school bag big enough to fit in at least one A4 folder, a pencil case, books (including a reading book) 
  • Students are allowed one stud in each ear and a nose stud (not a hoop)
  • Students are not permitted to have lines in their eyebrows nor shaved patterns in their hair
  • Acrylic nails of a reasonable length are permitted (suitable length for physical  activities)
  • Make up must be of a natural appearance, suitable for normal day wear

Shoes

 

  • Shoes must be smart black shoes that are leather/leather style material
  • Converse style footwear, trainers and boots are not permitted

 

*if there are medical reasons your child cannot wear shoes, a doctor’s note should be sent in to their Head of Learning and the school matron

Sixth Form BTEC PE Kit

Students taking a Level 3 in BTEC PE may purchase a separate kit through the PE department.  This kit should only be worn for practical lessons; at all other times students are expected to be in their business wear as normal.
