Once our students are operating effectively within their new surroundings and have developed a conceptual understanding of our Practical Values, we begin to introduce our Personal Virtues.
These virtues help them to refine and develop their character, whilst ensuring they are physically and mentally healthy, and become successful members of our community and indeed society.
Ambition (Having a strong desire to do or achieve something)
Sensitivity (Having or displaying a quick and delicate appreciation of others' feelings)
Purpose (Having or showing determination or resolve)
Integrity (The quality of being honest and having strong moral principles)
Resilience (The ability to withstand or recover quickly from difficult conditions)
Eloquence (Fluent or persuasive in speaking or writing)
If you have these virtues, if you ‘Aspire’, you can and you will ‘Achieve’.
As a key component of our character development initiative, teachers reference our virtues at every suitable opportunity, making links with their schemes of work and lesson content.
To further promote dialogue about our virtues between staff and students, we have implemented new virtues reward cards. This is to ensure students fully understand how each virtue can be demonstrated on a daily basis. Furthermore, students are now being nominated for our ‘Star of the Week’ (publicised in our weekly parent bulletin), based around one of the virtues.

In addition, our virtues are further reinforced through a range of professional display boards that are positioned above doorways in corridors around the academy.
Furthermore, ‘road signs’ have been erected and displayed in the driveway and on the main entrance road.
